Key Dates

Participating in the Memorabilia Auction

If you have a particular interest in one or more lots, we encourage you to introduce yourself to the auction team as early as possible preferably well before auction day. This allows our team to become familiar with your areas of interest and better assist you throughout the auction.

We also encourage all bidders to register as early as possible. As auction day approaches, registration activity, bidder inquiries, and auction preparations increase significantly. Early registration helps ensure a smooth bidding experience and provides ample time to answer questions before the auction begins.

The auction will be conducted live from the Claudia Sanders Dinner House with simultaneous participation from bidders across the United States and internationally through our online bidding platform. Every bidder whether participating in person or online will have the opportunity to compete in the same auction.

Bill Menish will serve as the auctioneer and will not be available for bidder communications once the auction begins. Jonathan Klunk and Morgan Lewis Hancock will serve as the primary points of contact for bidder assistance throughout the auction.

We encourage online bidders to establish contact with Jonathan or Morgan before the auction begins. Text messaging is preferred for the fastest response. Telephone calls during the auction should be reserved for active high bidders on specific items. If you are unable to reach one team member immediately, you are welcome to text both Jonathan and Morgan. Every effort will be made to respond promptly while maintaining the orderly conduct of the auction.

During active bidding, offers may be received simultaneously from bidders in the room and participants around the world. The auctioneer has sole authority over the conduct of the auction and the recognition of all bids. If your bid is not acknowledged immediately, please remain patient while all bids are received, reviewed, and recognized before the auction proceeds.

If you are the high bidder or are actively considering increasing your bid and require additional time to evaluate an item or consult with your advisors, please notify Jonathan or Morgan immediately by text message. We will make every reasonable effort to accommodate your request whenever practical.

After the Auction

Payment by credit card is due the evening of the auction unless other arrangements have been approved in advance by the auction team. Credit card payments are subject to a 3% convenience fee.

Wire transfers are accepted through the following business day and are not subject to the 3% credit card convenience fee. The auctioneer reserves the right to require payment by wire transfer for certain purchases or bidders at its sole discretion.

If payment has not been received, or satisfactory arrangements have not been made with the auction team within the required time period, the successful bidder may be declared in default. The auctioneer reserves the right to offer the item to another bidder or otherwise dispose of the item in accordance with the Auction Terms & Conditions, regardless of whether a purchase agreement has been executed.

If payment will be made by wire transfer, proof that funds have been initiated may be requested. When purchases are being made on behalf of a business, trust, nonprofit organization, or other entity, the auction team may request documentation confirming the purchaser’s authority to complete the transaction and bind the entity prior to releasing purchased property.

Kentucky sales tax (6%) will be collected on all memorabilia purchases unless a valid exemption applies. Buyers claiming a sales tax exemption must provide a valid Kentucky resale certificate or applicable nonprofit exemption documentation prior to payment. Whenever possible, exemption documentation should be submitted before the auction.

Purchased items will be released following verification of payment and completion of all required auction procedures. Please refer to the Auction Terms & Conditions for additional information regarding payment, pickup, shipping, and transfer procedures. Shipping, transportation, insurance, and all associated costs are the responsibility of the buyer. The auction team can assist in coordinating these services.
